Speed Up Ubuntu With Preload

What is Preload?

This is what most of you might be asking. Well my fellow Ubuntuers, Preload is an ‘Adaptive readahead daemon’. In English this basically means that Preloaded sits in the background on your Ubuntu system and monitors what applications you commonly use. It then analyses this information and creates correlations. Preloader will then fetch the binaries and dependencies for these applications on boot – making your most commonly used applications load faster.

NOTE: Preload does not make your system boot faster. It makes you system run faster once it’s booted up.

If you want to install and use Preload on your Ubuntu system, all you have to do is run the following command in terminal and Preload will do the rest.

sudo apt-get install preload
