LG retracts original statement on update, Optimus 2X to get ICS after all (in Korea)

Last month, LG had sent out a tweet regarding the availability of Android 4.0 on its Optimus 2X smartphone; that it won’t be receiving the promised Android 4.0 ICS upgrade. But now, LG Korea has reaffirmed its original statement, explaining in a korean tweet that they are still in the process of testing the software on the phone and it would be soon released to the Korean market.

Even though this memo only applies to Korean Optimus 2X phones, the dev community and the end-user will still benefit when the update hits, providing what is still missing in all the current ICS ROMs for the phone, such as proper GPU acceleration, media acceleration and more hardware drivers.
