How to get the most out of your PS3

Playstation 3 Header

Sony’s PS3 console is the perfect media and gaming console and it’s no surprise why. With 3D, Blu-ray and internet capabilities, the PS3 is brilliant as a media centre as well as hi-tech gaming console. However, these PS3’s don’t come cheap so if you do buy one, then it’s important you get the most out of it. So, here’s a short list of a few things you can do to get the most out of your PS3.

Play In HD

High Definition is the best form of display currently available and it’s perfect for the PS3. The PS3 is HD ready but it also has a blu-Ray player which means you can play Blu-Ray discs. Watching a Blu-Ray film in HD is incredible, so it’s definitely worth doing if you have the chance. All PS3 games are Blu-Ray discs which mean that the graphics are slightly better than the Xbox 360. If you have a HD TV then just buy a cheap HDMI cable, although one should come with your PS3.

Wireless Surround Sound Headset

Having surround sound with your PS3 is the perfect combination of video and audio. However, normal surround sound can take up space and may have to be turned down in the evening. This is why a wireless surround sound headset is perfect. With surround sound, you’ll be able to hear bullets fly past your ears or cars whizzing around your head. You’ll be surprised how inexpensive these headsets are.

Go Online

Online gaming is, what I think, the best form of multiplayer gaming. It allows you to challenge people all across the world, or just team up with your friends in a multiplayer campaign. Playing online on the PS3 is completely free so it’s definitely worth doing. You can do more than just play games online though, you can also download apps such as Netflix which allows you to watch films and TV shows (with a paid subscription).

Finally the Playstation 3 also has an internet browser. So whilst on your device you can also check your email, check your social networks like Facebook, Twitter or Google+ and of course surf the net in general.

So there you have it, now go out into the PS3 world and enjoy your experience.

4.) Use an IEC 60320 Power Cable

Your PS3 isn’t going to be much use to you if it doesn’t power on. I’d recommend a reliable IEC 60320 power cable to make sure your device is getting all the power it needs. The one that comes with the console should be just fine!

5.) Use a Monster HDMI cable

A good HDMI cable is an expensive HDMI cable. If you spend less than $70 on a cheap cable your PS3 is likely to download a virus from your TV.
